Organic cotton
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally leading and recognized Standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. It not only defines the environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain, but also the social criteria to be complied with. GOTS relies on a dual system of on-site inspections and residue analyses to ensure full compliance with the criteria.
The GOTS Standards define the requirements that ensure the sustainable production of textiles – from the extraction of textile raw fibres to environmentally friendly and socially responsible production and labelling of the end products. Compliance with these social and environmental Standards is made visible with the GOTS Label on the product. This gives consumers security in their purchase decision.
GOTS

This is what GOTS stands for

Controlled organic natural fibres
Free from environmentally harmful chemicals
Fair and safe working conditions
Strict Environmental Criteria
Textile products consisting of at least 70% biologically produced natural fibres can be certified according to GOTS. A product with the GOTS label "organic" must contain at least 95% controlled biologically produced fibers.

All chemical additives used, such as dyes and additives, must meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria. Among other things, companies must comply with packaging material requirements and have their own environmental protection program that minimizes waste and wastewater.
Processors and manufacturers of GOTS-certified textiles must also comply with social criteria based on the Core standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

These include safe and hygienic working conditions, the Prohibition of child labour, the omission of discrimination as well as the limitation of working hours and compliance with rest periods.
